I’m really excited about the fair this year, the sims look great , the theme is fun and there is a lot of great new hair from tons of designers! The fair opens to the public on the 2nd of July and runs till the 15th. Also be sure to join the “Hair Fair DEMO group” for easier access to the demos.

Lots of Hair for You!

Just trying to keep up with everything Kavar is doing completely wears me out at times and trying to get all the info for a blog post sometimes feel a bit like herding cats. I’m happy that I can now share with you 7 new styles spread across 3 locations. Let’s start with the 3 female styles and 2 male styles available at the Exile booth at Hair Fair.

Are you looking for some short, spiky hair that looks like you’ve been out in the ocean spray for days? Then you definitely want Luis with the great mix of shorter dreads. Ready for some big dreadlock action? That means you have to take a look at Ty and please try to restrain yourself from licking the poster for Ty in the fair booth. We’re having a terrible time keeping that clean.

Whether you want a shorter funky style or just long loose waves, Exile has you covered at Hair Fair 2010. December is a longer layered style with a lot of volume around the crown and soft wavy hair pulled in front of the shoulders. Venus is big hair fit for a goddess as its name implies with texture-changing flowers scattered throughout it. Meduse is a chance for women to try out the dreadlock textures in a loosely styled updo.

And I know you’ve heard a lot about Project Donate and its efforts to raise money for UNICEF Pakistan Flood Crisis. Kavar has a hair there with 100% of the proceeds donated to the cause. Gemini is a long side-swept style that can be worn unadorned or with a leather headband.

The Dressing Room Blue has a new collection out, and that’s the place to find 4 colors of the flower-adorned Bronwyn for one low price.

Lolita at Hair Fair

As many of you have probably heard by now, Hair Fair 2009 has been extended two days as a response to some of the issues SL was having during the first weekend of the fair. This means the final day of the fair will be July 6 rather than July 4, but designers will still be able to put their Hair Fair styles in their own shops on July 4.

One of the styles currently up in the Exile booth at Hair Fair is Lolita, a funky set of pigtails with a variety of accessory options if you choose to use them. I personally love the kawaii barrettes that are included because the loops of pearls and dangling hearts make the hair even cuter. The hearts are scripted for several color options as you can see below, and there are even more colors not shown. The face decal with two small hearts is also in the package.

If you’re not in the mood for the more ornate barrettes, then Kavar has included another option that still uses the scripted hearts. The heart duo barrettes are simpler but still just as sweet an option. Of course Lolita also looks great plain without any of the barrette options.

Lolita is up for sale at the Exile booth on the SW sim at Hair Fair. Demos for Lolita and the other 4 Hair Fair styles are also available online at XStreet and at the Exile main shop.

Heath

When designers sign up for Hair Fair, they are told that at least one style must donate 50% of the proceeds to the fair’s chosen charity Locks of Love. This year, Kavar has designated his male style Heath as the one donating to Locks of Love, so guys this is a perfect time for you to come check out the fair and pick up a hair knowing that you’re also helping a RL charity at the same time.

And if you have a guy in your life who is in need of a little update to his look, then I think you’d be doing him a favor to get him to at least try on a demo for Heath. Heath is probably my current favorite style for the guys out of all the great hair Kavar does for them. There’s a sexy rough-and-tumble quality about it that’s very appealing with the slightly tousled layers, and it’s also a very soft and touchable style.

Aphrodite

Now that Hair Fair 2009 is up and running with all the sims online, I wanted to highlight the Exile Hair Fair styles in their own posts. I’ll start with Aphrodite, a classic updo with a few tendrils hanging down to frame the face and graced with 3 flower clusters. And as usual, Kavar has given us several options to play with in those flower clusters as you can see in the following photos. These flowers all change with a click to one of 5 color themes, and there is also an option to make the flowers invisible if you want to wear the style without them.

Above is Aphrodite with the flowers in the sunrise color option, and you can see there exactly how the flowers are placed in the hair. Below are the midday and wild tropic color options.

The final 2 color options are evening and sunset. And if you’re curious about this gorgeous prim bikini created with flowers that also change to match the Aphrodite flower options, then you’ll be happy to know that it’s available as well. Kavar has included it in the all or nothing pack as a gift for those who buy Aphrodite in all 42 shades. I’m sure I’m not the only one who can think of lots of uses for it from simply wearing it because it’s gorgeous to using it for photos and creating a variety of fairy looks with it.

One of a Kind Auction at Hair Fair

Hair Fair 2009 has officially begun now, and I’m sure most people have already started scoping out their favorites even if they haven’t made it to the sims yet. One Exile style you might be interested in that you won’t see in the Exile booth is Chrissy. Chrissy is a fun beachy style you can see below paired with one of the new bikinis from Exodi and one of Tuli’s gorgeous Hope skins.

So if it’s a Hair Fair exclusive but yet not in the booth, then where is it? Chrissy is actually a generous donation from Kavar to this year’s auction. If you’re looking for the perfect summer hair, then Chrissy might be the one for you. If you win the auction, you’ll get a regular Exile fat pack of all 42 shades in a hairstyle that no one else on the grid will ever have. The auction area is near the landing point on the NE sim, and Chrissy is just one of the 10 styles up for auction. Auctions run now through the fair’s last day on July 4, so get to bidding, and all proceeds of course go to the Hair Fair 2009 charity Locks of Love!

Sneak Peek

Hair Fair 2009 officially opens on Saturday to the public, and Kavar has been hard at work on 5 new hairstyles. Below you can see a little sneak peek of what you’ll find at the Exile booth during Hair Fair. From the left, you have Lolita with flirty pigtails and several accessory options, Aphrodite with scripted color-changing flower clusters, Lindsay with long flowing waves, Cerise with an asymmetrical style, and Heath for the guys who like mid-length layers.

I’ll be back with more details on these styles once Hair Fair opens. I’m so excited!

Hair Fair Flickr Contest

As you may have already heard, Hair Fair 2009 starts on June 20! I know we’re all excited to see what our favorite hair designers are going to release, but before all those goodies hit the grid, you can spend a little time photographing your favorite hairstyles and enter them into the Hair Fair 2009 Flickr contest. So many hair designers have submitted fat packs and gift cards for the prizes, and you can see a full list of those at the Flickr group. Also, all of the contest winners will have VIP access to the fair the day before it officially opens!

Be sure to look at the rules before you get started so that your tributes to your favorite styles and designers can actually be included in the contest group. I can tell you right now that we much prefer accepting entries into the pool over denying photos, so make the job easy on us please by being familiar with the rules and sticking to them. We can’t wait to see your entries!

Bandana Day!

Kavar and I have been hanging out at the final day of Hair Fair 2008 with our bandanas on for Bandana Day. If you haven’t picked one up yet, then please drop by and take a look at the huge variety from all the participants. Each bandana is only 50L and all of the money from the sales goes straight to Locks of Love.

Thanks everyone for making Hair Fair 2008 such a great experience. The amount of money raised for Locks of Love has been just incredible!

Voodoo

Voodoo is another hairstyle by Exile available exclusively at Hair Fair 2008 through Sept. 7. Free demos can be found at the Exile booth, OnRez, and the main Exile location in Ivy Falls. This style has most of the hair swept to the right with a single braid hanging in front of the left ear. Simply click the front hair strand to add streaks to the hair or to take it back to a solid color without the streaks. Several colors for the streaks are available so you can pick your favorite. The hair is also fully mod, so for even more color options, simply tint the entire style and then see how the colored streaks seem to change as well. There are so many options when you wear Voodoo!
