Celebrate Summer with New Hair from Exile

Kavar has just put up 3 new hairs at Exile. They all scream summer and sunshine to me. There are 2 new styles for the women this week and 1 for the guys.

Megan is a sweet updo wrapped in a scarf that includes several textures that you can flip through to match your outfits. My favorite part of this hair is that lovely heavy fringe in the front that really frames your face and eyes. If you’re anything like me, you’ll immediately want to throw on a sundress and go on a picnic when you try this style.

Ciara is a long braid swept over the right shoulder. The little wisps of hair escaping from the braid really make this one feel so natural.

Brady is a mid-length style for the guys. The longer front pieces brush across the forehead and give the hair a slightly mussed look. I can just picture a guy wearing this style and heading out to the beach with his surfboard.

Enchanted with Evie

I think all of us have those SL designers that we can name who just seem to exist on their own level of creativity and magic and/or designers who make us smile because their creations have been a part of so many of our happy moments. For me, Evangeline Miles of Evie’s Closet falls into both categories. Her dresses are wearable art that swish and twirl perfectly as you dance whether you’re dancing with someone special or simply dancing by yourself in a fit of joy, and I always feel gorgeous wearing her creations. Imagine my utter delight when Evie bought the Shine Enchanted set and told me that she was pairing it with her newest release in some of her vendor photos, and then she was kind enough to invite me to set up a vendor next to the Isabella release at her main shop.

Below you can see the vendor set-up just before Evie officially released the Isabella collection, so just ignore the “Coming Soon” and fly over to Evie’s Closet right now to grab one or both of the available options. Evie’s most recent releases have been so versatile with the various add-ons she creates for them. With a switch of attachments, you can easily go from being a princess to attending a tea party with a break in between for flitting about as a fairy. And there’s so much packed with Isabella with the wings, hair, and shoes in addition to the dress styles and stockings.

It’s so easy to forget how to just be in SL. We start out having so much fun with our dancing and designing and socializing, and then some of us fixate on adding so many responsibilities that it all just becomes another job and we lose that sense of “anything is possible” that made us fall in love with it in the first place. With that in mind, I’d like to thank Evie for creating a release that reminded me of my love of wings and had me throwing on a fairy AO and flying around the beautiful Oubliette sim just enjoying it and taking some photos, and then when I went back to the workshop, I couldn’t help but dance as I worked. I hope all of you take the time to stop and smell the flowers.

where the wild things are

Two new hairstyles are available at Exile this weekend. There’s one for the women and one for the guys and those of us who like to borrow from the guys. Janine is a mid-length shaggy style with lots of wispy layers. This is one I really have to suggest that you demo to see the cute way these wisps move as you move. I just kept staring at myself and smiling while wearing Janine. It’s the perfect style for summer and either dressing up with some cute sundresses or going more casual with shorts and a tank-top.

Wild Thing is a pulled back faux hawk with a few thick tendrils of hair hanging over the right eye. Men, you’ll want this one, and women, you’ll want to demo it at the very least. I’m quite fond of it myself, and the slicked back part around your head is a single sculpted prim that really holds up for the level of detail. I think we might see Kavar use that in some other fun ways for future styles, and I’m certainly looking forward to seeing those.
