One of the beautiful things about Second Life is the way it connects us to people all over the world. I know many of us have been reading all we can about the Victoria bushfires and sending best wishes to our Australian friends. Autumn Hykova and Dakota Buck worked together to start the Victoria Bushfire Relief Fund with all donated money going to the Australian Red Cross relief efforts in Victoria, and many designers have jumped on board to help by creating new items and/or donating proceeds from their sales. You can see a list of these participating vendors at Dakota’s blog that will be updated frequently.
Kavar has designed Lynne as his contribution for the relief effort. Lynne is a loose half updo with tendrils of hair in the back and shaggy wavy layers in the front. I can easily see this working for casual outfits or lending a sexy edge to more formal looks. Please try on the free demo at Exile to check it out for yourself. When you buy Lynne, every linden dollar will go directly to the Victoria Bushfire Relief Fund, so you’ll be helping others while buying a little something for yourself.

Shine has a pack of bright blue eyes also set to give 100% of all proceeds to the relief fund, and you can find those on the back wall of Exile in the hair section.

There’s a also donation kiosk in the shop if you’d like to donate more money that way, and you can donate money directly to the Australian Red Cross online.
I don’t mention this enough, but Exile is home to two other up and coming brands. Shine, Brandy Rasmuson’s brand of eyes and soon to be accessories and Treads, Ju Weissnicht’s Brand of shoes. Since I’m falling down on the job blogging their releases I decided to actually try to make a nice looking blog post with bloggy pics for it (Read: Kavar pretends to be a blogger).
First up Brandy’s Exquisite new eyes. The Cathedral Series is a great example of Brandy’s evolving style. Every series is different and more polished then the one before. These take their name from their glassy appearance, much like stain glass windows you would find in a Cathedral. You can see the details come to life when you zoom in on them, almost like bubbling heated glass they kind of glimmer over the reflections and light depth in the textures. Available in ten stunning colors there is sure to be something for every one’s taste. Best of all Brandy sells each color for only 50L, so they are not only beautiful but affordable for even those on a strict budget. If your looking for just the right eyes or your an eye collector
be sure to check out this new set in the store and also available on Xstreetsl here. They look fantastic on and I can’t imagine a better deal for beautiful eyes.

Next is Ju Weissnicht’s K boots under the brand name Treads. These boots just scream “I’m going to kick your ass”. They are something a lot of us have in our real life closets as well. The textures are amazing, they fit brilliantly and they come in 5 sizes for easy fitting for men or women and are available in brown or black. You owe it to yourself to try out the demo at least, its one shoe purchase I assure that you won’t regret. I personally haven’t taken them off since I got them, and I’m starting to think someone might have to pry them from my cold dead hands to get me to put something else on my feet. You can find these in world at the store and also available on Xstreetsl here.

This is just a taste of these brands. Keep your eyes open for more great things from them in the future.
It’s time for another new release at Exile. Veronica is a shorter style with razor-cut layers that hug the nape of the neck in the back and fall a bit past chin-length in the front. The front of the hair is parted on the left so that the hair falls over the right eye. This is a style you’ll be able to dress up or down easily depending on your mood, and it’s great for those days when you might want something a little shorter but still want a lot of volume.

Kavar has created a special color combination for Veronica that he is calling Caramel Chocolate, and this is a group freebie that will be available at Exile‘s main shop in Ivy Falls the entire month of February. Just join the Exile Gear group if you’re not already a member, wear your group tag, and click the freebie vendor image at the front of the shop on the right wall.
