Simply a few of my favorite things, that I didn’t make :D

Ξ December 20th, 2008 | Kavar | → 4 Comments | ∇ Favorites |

So usually all my posts on this blog are all me me me! New releases and such. But today I would like to take some time to just pay respects to the things I really like that I didn’t make, that make my life more enjoyable, better looking, easier and over all more fun. I would invite anyone who reads this to do the same, its a good time of year to show some appreciation :)

Being a creator means I spend most of my time making stuff, and the rest of it photographing it for ads and vendors, So I will start with animations because I always need male and female ones for different images and things so I have a great many. Also I feel I’m guilty of not crediting them nearly as much as I should.

Long Awkward Pose (LAP)-

lap

Seriously my favorite pose store. I have most of them and make special break times to hunt for them when I see the name in a hunt list just in case shes hidden ones that aren’t in the store lol. Dove Swanson has a way with poses, and not just female ones, her male ones are just as well thought out and executed. I always find the right flow and feel I’m looking for, and there’s a real range of stuff to from really casual low key to glam to funny and really sexy. Also if your on a budget they are really affordable (buy the packs of them, its a great deal) My only complaint is she has a rl life and I can’t tie her up in the basement and make her create poses 24 hours a day :D . So Basically if you use poses and haven’t been there, or haven’t been in a while, go there, immediately, and spend a lot, you won’t be sorry.

Vista Animations-

vistastand

Creator of my AO Animations of choice for the last couple of years. I like to mix and match a lot so I just use the latest version of Zhao and switch them in and out when I feel like a change. Vista Barnes creates some great animated poses though so my stands and walks are often marked with the Vista brand. I Also recently bought a Male model pose pack from there and was really happy with the poses and the pricing. Definitely a store to check out if you haven’t already or haven’t in a while.

Striking Poses-

spshot

I remember the first few fashcon ads for Zelly Mornington’s Striking poses store. I also remember every time I went for a bit it was in a different place lol :D But what a great idea, Poses based on shots of famous people ranging from all times and walks. I have a growing collection of Zelly’s poses and I have to say I’m always happy with what I get there. I suppose there is a part of me that wishes she did more men’s poses but other then that I would recommend a visit. And I would also recommend the Drew Barrymore set (the pose above is from that set) just cause I really like those :D

Persona-

personasit

My final animation pic is Persona. Myllie Writer makes all kinds of things, poses, clothing and jewelry, but more to the point she makes my current favorite male sitting pose, aptly named male sit sexy seen above. I have several of her poses and they are all very nice and interesting also as many of you will have already seen in the blogs, she makes some great clothing so definetly worth a look if you haven’t been.

On a more personal note, lets talk about the things that are on my person next.

Ashia Tomsen, one of the Free*Style bloggers, gave me a lot of room to play when she shared her suggestion for dressing me up. “I’d like to see you in Paper Couture, with some Sn@tch thrown in there mebbe…ooh and some Peturb Ation <3.”

This outfit involved no shopping, but I spent a lot of time digging through my inventory and throwing things together to see how they looked. I only have a couple of pieces from Paper Couture, and I kept coming back to the Night Heron dress because of the mix of zebra print and feathers, and then that led to me grabbing the corset from one of my favorite dresses, the Hellbound from Sn@tch, because of the awesome zebra print on the back of that. I was listening (as usual lately) to the song “So What” by P!nk, so maybe that’s why everything I tried seemed to take a rock star turn. My PERTURB/ation touch is the caged heart choker that I absolutely love, and then I kept accessorizing with a belt and pants from Sn@tch. The Voodoo hair seemed to go well with everything else, and merlot, one of the new shades, even matched the color of the dress and pulled it all together.

Going Wild

Ξ December 18th, 2008 | Brandy | → 0 Comments | ∇ Announcements, New Releases |

Exile has a new release for the guys this week. Stephan is a slightly unruly wavy style, the kind of hair that looks like you’ve just styled it by running your hands through it. Of course we all know that kind of style takes time to master unless you have a hair stylist on call, and luckily you do! Free demos for all the styles are available at the shop.

In addition to the new release, I’m pleased to inform you that Kavar has added another color pack to all of his hairstyles. This newest pack is called Wild Cards 2, and like the other color packs, it contains 6 beautiful textures. There’s a bit of everything in this pack, so be sure to check it out. Sugar is a soft pink. Blood is a bold red. Dust is a light golden brown. Merlot is a muted purple-brown mix. Hazelnut is a light red-toned brown. Arctic is a true white with subtle shading and highlighting. Visit Exile to try the color demos and find your own perfect shade.
